Memberships Module and Sellers

I have the Memberships module installed and ran into an issue. Our goal is this:

1. We have created 2 Memberships within the membership category.
2. We want each membership, once purchased, to allow a user to become a "Seller" for one year.
3. A current customer, or guest can purchase one of these membership products and after purchase, their account should be upgraded to seller status AUTOMATICALLY.
4. When the membership expires, we want this to AUTO RENEW yearly.

We tested this setup and it doesn't give the customer Seller Account access after purchasing the membership. They only have standard customer account status. How do we make it so that the system knows the user is now a seller and gives proper access?

Also, if we purchase the STRIPE Payment Gateway module, will memberships be able to do recurring payments?

Thank you

thanks for using our modules.

A customer purchase membership does not automatically because a seller account.
In order to become a seller account, he/she must manually choose to become a seller and agrees on Terms & Conditions at My Seller Account page.

Thank you for the reply.

We need Sellers to Pay a membership fee in order to begin selling products on the store.

1. Is there a direct URL to a Seller Sign Up page that only displays seller related info?

2. Currently, the seller membership info is displayed as a drop down menu to select from when creating a customer account. We don't want regular customers (shoppers) to see anything seller related when creating a customer account. Is this possible? I was able to remove the membership menu drop the account sign up page, but then we are not sure where people can now sign up for a seller account.

3. If we can't manage the above, how can we move the Membership Selection menu from the top of the page and include it with the Seller related info at the bottom of the page. See example image:

4. Also, we noticed that if I create a new customer account, select a membership, check box to become a seller, enter seller info, proceed to checkout......I am then registered as both a customer AND a seller before I complete payment. This is not good as this is a loop hole to getting a free seller account. ;)

How to we fix this and get these modules working fluidly for our needs?

Thank you!

No, at front office, that is only place that can sign up customer and a seller account.

You can remove the membership drop down from sign up page.
User is still able to sign up seller account, but seller will have to purchase membership later.
There is a link at My Account - My Seller Account - Summary page. Seller can purchase membership from that page.

Each seller account must have one customer account and one employee account. So it is normal a customer is created for a seller account.

Yes, but is there a direct URL I can link a button or image to? I figured I would try to link to the registration page but not sure how.

But, the problem is that the module creates both a customer account AND a seller account before the user pays and completes the transaction. Both account emails are send with their login info, and the user's account has full seller privileges, even though they still haven't paid in full. Think of it as the user signs up all their info and abandons cart.

Thank you.

You can link to Membership category so that seller is able to choose which membership to purchase.

Make sure you have configured the Membership module to integrate with multiple seller module(there is checkbox).
Once you choose to integrate, a seller can not do anything (like product/order/carrier management) without a valid membership.
but seller is able to manage business info or payment info.

•••Here is our concern with this. Maybe you could help us understand. Currently, if we leave this option UN-checked a Membership Dropdown selection menu shows on the create account page. We like this, but if we CHECK integrate into multi-seller, the membership dropdown selection is removed from the account creation page. This now makes signing up for a seller account a two/three step process.
1. The user must first create an account (customer/seller) and won't have any seller options.
2. Then the user must click to their account/memberships section
3. Then the user must purchase a membership to access seller features.

Is there a simpler process?

•••We would like to see the membership menu selection dropdown at the account page, but only at the bottom with the rest of the multi-seller options. This way the user can select a membership if they want. If they don't want a seller account, they can just proceed without filling that info in and become customer only. How to we set this up? Willing to pay for you to modify. See screenshot below:

for your scenario, I suggest you :

remove the membership drop down from sign up page. There is a link at to Membership category page at My Seller Account - Summary page for seller is able to choose membership and purchase membership.

Because even if seller choose a membership at sign, if he/she does not proceed to pay for the membership(most cases), the membership still not purchased by seller , so the seller still does not have membership.
