Yes, you can configure membership expiry reminder alert at module configuration screen.
You can set multiple email allerts like send email before 14 days, 5 days and before 1 day.

Only admin can cancel membership manually at back office Membership tab.

I come here form presta forums. I may have need of the membership module in the future, but I\'m not sure this would handle what I need....

I need something that can handle not only membership, but recurring subscription payments. Basically an automatic by-the-month or by-3-month/by-6-month automatic billing that can integrate with existing payment access modules such as paypal or authorize.net etc...

Does this support that, or will it in the future??

The recurring payment must be handled by payment modules, not the membership module.
It means as long as your payment module can handle this, the membership module is integrated in to PresraShop, so it will automatically recalculated by the new payment.

I have two payment modules that can handle recurring payments, you can use one of those two modules to combine with membership manegement module to fufill your requirements.

Agile Authorize.Net Express Checkout

So the 2 modules can work together (agile membership & agile paypal checkout)? e.g., if agile membership can automatically take on recurring payment signups from agile paypal... and if someone were to stop paying their monthly subscription fee, agile paypal would register that and pass it on to agile membership so it could then disallow access from member only areas??

The answer is yes (result).

but it works in different way.
The membership will expires when the membership duration ends if user does not buy another membership for renewal. Once the 2nd payment is done, the membership will be renewed by Agile membership.

From time to time, I need to assign a membership to a existing customer, is it possible to do this at back office or at module screen?

Unfortunately, current there is no function that you can add membership to existing customer.
Because the membership is linked to order and many other data like groups discount.

I will consider to add this as new feature in the future version of Agile Membership Management module.
