I just checked the demo site, it seems working fine. I just made 2 test reviews. You can also see the 2 reviews displayed on home page now.
By default, only log in user can post reviews, I have changed the configuration so that any one without log in can post reviews.

All reviews need to be moderated by admin at Customers - Product Reviews tab. But you can also change the configuration to show the reviews without moderation.

do you know if this module provides ranking capability ? for example, a t-shirt will have 5 stars and will be ranked no 1 t-shirt out of 36 t-shirts in the category mens clothes ?

The module provide functionality of review and rating on a product.
But it does not provide ranking the product in the category.
