Please help with this. It is a very big problem for me.
For my site I want to offer a free membership for an unlimited amount of time that has a limit to the numbers of products they can publish.
Also I want to offer a paid membership for a limited amount of time (1 month) that offers an unlimited number of products to be published.
After I tested I ran into some issues. If a user creates a free membership and after a while buys the paid membership to post more products for some time but then want's to return to the free membership he can't.
But also the paid membership starts after the free one so since the free membership is unlimited ( 99 years ) then the paid one starts after 99 years. The users needs to cancel the free membership so he can use the paid one. But after that one expires he can't have the free one again. It's a major design problem in regards to functionality.
For a quick fix I think that removing the limit of one free membership per account can solve this although it's kind of ugly from a users perspective.
Is there a way to solve this issue in a more user friendly manner.
I imagine the best way is that when you buy a paid membership the free membership enters a stand-by state and reactivates after the paid membership expires. Or instead of cancel for paid memberships you can add a stand-by state which can be reactivated at the users will.
I should finish the project within a week for this client and ran into this issue at the last 100 yards. This is a very big problem hope you guys can help.
