Yes, the module is compatible with prestashop 1.7x, But this module is an accessory module of agile multiple seller. You will need agile multiple seller module to work together with this module.

Where Can I set commission for product category?

First you must choose Commission Mode - Per Category at seller commission configuration screen.
Then you you will be able to set commission per category.

And please note - You can only choose/use one Commission mode at a time.

I am wondering if it's possible to overwrite the way to calculate the commission fee by a specific code.
For example different percentage based on interval of price, ...
I am looking for a marketplace product to migrate an already existing marketplace.
One of the functionality is that the seller just fix the price he wants to get, and the admin calculate the selling price.

Yes. Our seller commission module does have this function that you can set the commission fee at rate of %, based on different price range.

You can also set different % for different seller.

But it is at seller level, not product level. And only admin can set commission rate for seller.

But you may consider to modify the module based on your own requirements. We can discuss to provide you with open code of the modules.

When setting up users in PrestaShop they are referred to as employees. Is it the same 'employee' that you refer to as sellers?
So each employee that I have setup as a user can take orders over the phone and enter them into the admin panel of prestashop and we can track commissions of their sales.

this is not the way the module designed to work.
It is a accessory module of agile multiple seller module. the seller is some one register products in your store to for sale.
The seller owns the product to sell.
