Multi Seller Module / myOwnDelivery

Hi,

I am really thinking of buying the multi-sellers-module but there is still an obstacle which hinders me in my specific
use case.
I'd like to have several local sellers for tangible goods - all the same.
All have local carriers or doing it themselves with myOwnDelivery Module.

From a local customers perspective it is quite important to select right from the beginning the right sellers according
to available products, availability of carriers delivering to their home for an acceptable price plan.

So in such a use case you need beforehand the product categories and the carrier conditions with price plan and zoning.

Otherwise you would waste time with filling your shopping cart and then finding out that delivery is not working to your needs.

Any ideas?

Cheers Andre

thanks for your inquiry.

First of all, our module will work like eBay, even seller sell the same product, each seller has to create his/her product entry to be listed.

For shipping, if we have following modules that may help you implement your requirements.
- agile seller shipping module
allow sellers to configure their own shipping carriers. set different shipping price for different delivery zones based on product price or weight.
http://addons-modules.com/store/en/pres ... odule.html

- agile shipping estimation module
at product list page, buyer can choose locations and get shipping fee estimation for that product from that seller.
http://addons-modules.com/store/en/prod ... odule.html

at checkout carrier selection page, buyer is able to choose shipping carriers at product level. shipping is calculated per seller, per carrier.

please verify our modules at our online demo site and check details at our module details page.

with regards to your first sentence. Does that mean that the feature "Admin is able to assign multiple products or all products in a category(including subcategoires) to a selected seller" is not working. Sellers must put in all the products from scratch again ? thx andre

The feature still working. but you can only assign to one seller, not multiple seller. Each product can only has one owner.

As admin, you can duplicate a product and then assign the copied product to a different seller.
so you do not need to enter from scratch for the same product.

So, I am decided more or less, but what still worries me is how the scalability of the multi seller module looks like with regards to an increasing number of sellers. With regards to what I asked you beforehand about products you stated one possibility is to duplicate the number of products with each seller. Assuming the idea is to have several houndreds or even > 1000 products in each sellers' context. How many sellers could I have without getting into trouble with the architecture?

thanks again for your inquiry.
again performance depends on PrestaShop base, but I heard some of customers have thousands of products with big issues.
so I think it should not be a big issue, but of course it is also depends on your server performance.
in your case, you may need to use dedicated hosting service instead of shared hosting service.

ok, an the second part of the question? How many sellers are really handy from your point of view. As I have seen in the configuration of the demo you are using the multi shop feature of Prestashop. I just try to imagine when I would put some hundreds or even thousands of sellers into it ..

.. or maybe I fully missunderstood the difference / design of the accessory multi shop variant and the multi seller PS module. I read something in the doc about automatically giving buyers a seller account w/o admin approval. Is this feature handled with the original PS Multishop feature or are Sellers handled like employees with certain permissions?

Technically, there is no limit to the number of sellers you can add at your store.
But it will also depend on your server performance.

We are using virtual shop concept, it is a little different from PrestaShop original multiple shop feature.
But are still using the Prestashop original "shop" entity(PHP class and database tables) to represent our virtual shop. Please check our module description for more details.
