I was able to install the multi seller module on a hosted website where PrestaShop was installed using Softaculous in a smooth way.
The problem was on the local virtual machine, a pre-configured PresaShop 1.6.1 application from Bitnami (https://bitnami.com/stack/prestashop/virtual-machine)
I noticed that all files and directories permissions was ok. The Apache worker process had the "daemon" user and and the "daemon" group configured in the /opt/bitnami/apache2/conf/httpd.conf file, the same group that had the 755 and 644 permission on Prestashop directories and files.
The strange thing was that directories and files owner was another user "bitnami", but it's member of "daemon" group. Therefore at first sight It seemed fine, but changing the root ownership (in recursive way) to the "daemon" user.
